Gaynor Thorp

Tucked away on a hillside in the Forest of Dean is the beautiful home of Gaynor and David Thorp, a most creative duo. The house has a fabulous glass rear aspect with breathtaking views across the valley opposite with lush foliage in the foreground which I felt created a warm tropical setting from the inside, truly unusual and incredibly restful.

Gaynor is an intricate weaver and has the most inspiring set of colours in her selection of yarns. In this set of images I have captured Gaynor translating Dave’s love of typography and words into the most beautiful natural linen intended for their own home. It was fascinating watching the process of the fibre being cleaned and pulled to then becoming a very elegant and stylish piece of material. We had such fun playing with the light coming through the lettering!
